TURKEY IN THE STRAW HE HE HAW! TURKEY IN THE HAY YOU ARE GAY! by ZOMBIE ZANE

Hello Dead End Horror fans that eat beanie weenies in your free time while contemplating all the injustices that the world has brought you. What’s good? I don’t know about you guys, but I am glad the weekend is here! Sunday is gonna be huge! After some crotch kicking early on in the season, my New York Giants are one fucking game away from the Super Bowl. GO BIG BLUE!

Okay, I’ll stop. Not a sports blog. So since this ain’t a sports blog, I guess I better get to today’s shit. This week we’ve been all about slasher movies. We’ve done lists, we’ve done some reviews, and it’s been fun. So if you haven’t read our posts this week, go back through and check them out.

Anywho, for today I’m gonna give you my take on the 2008 slasher film, “Carver.” Have you seen it yet? No? By the way, before I get into this, I wanna tell you that this little gem was based on true events. Knowing that now, makes this movie even cooler.

So like I said, “Carver” is a 2008 American horror film directed by Franklin Guerrero Jr and written by him as well. It stars Natasha Charles Parker, Erik Fones, and Matt Carmody. It runs just over 95mins and is of course rated R.

Basically the movie is about a group of youngsters who decide to hiking in the small town of Halcyon Ridge. So I know you know where this is going. Group of kids, hiking, woods, and of course one Bobby Shaw Carter. Who, pretty much hunts them down and kills them one by one. Told ya, it’s the same plot as all the other slasher movies. But this one is kinda fun. Plus they play a really whacked out song throughout the film. Here, listen to it....

See! Funny! But back to the movie. Yeah, I liked this one. Plenty of gore, nudity, killing, humor, all in all every element was present. FUCK ME! I can’t type tonight!! Sorry. That was a mini burst of frustration. But for real, I give this little slasher film a solid 3 out of 5.
Like I said, not the most original plot but then again, how many slasher films are original? But so go and check it out. It’s available on Netflix instant watch so head on over and give it try. And be sure to check out some of our other shit as well. So on behalf of the busty and always muffin craving Sasha Slaughter, this is Zombie Zane saying goodbye and have a great weekend. GO BIG BLUE!

SHAAAAARK!!! By: ZOMBIE 'Shark Bait' ZANE

WHOA DADDY! Coming to ya live and direct from the seven six one oh seven which is also known as the hottest place in the fuckin world. Could it be any hotter? Yes. Yes it could be. And I fear that the worst isn’t over yet. I may melt away before I finish typing this so if I stop in mid post, you’ll know the reason why.

So, since it’s hotter than Hades here, I thought this would be a good time to review a movie that takes place in the water. Good idea huh? This week at Dead End Horror, we’re gonna be doing kinda a hodgepodge, or an olio if you will. No particular theme, just kinda this and that. Not to worry though, it’ll be good. We are professionals after all. Ok, so how about we wrap up the foreplay and get to this weeks shit, yes?

Have any of you guys seen, ‘Open Water?’ It’s a total kick ass film! I know there are some haters out there who found it hard to sit through and rather boring, but fuck off outta here. It’s a great movie with tons of sharks. And just a little fyi, ‘Shark Week’ started on Sunday so they both kinda go hand in hand. I love me some shark shit!

‘Open Water’ is an indie film that was released in 2003. And yes, it is a horror film. It was directed by Chris Kentis and his wife Laura Lau. Now these guys pretty much made the whole movie themselves. No shit. So that’s pretty impressive, don’t ya think? It was shot for around $500,000 and I think the film grossed something like $55 million overall. It runs just about 80mins and it can be found on Netflix. Not for instant watch yet, but it’s still available on dvd. I got mine at Half Price Books for like $3 so I really lucked out there. Ok, let’s get to the plot and stuff.

PLOT AND STUFF - Now this film is based on a true story. No, it is. It’s based on an American couple (Tom and Eileen Lonegran) who in the late 90's were scuba diving off the Great Barrier Reef and were actually left behind because the dive boat crew fucked up the head count. The couple was never heard from again. (Cue the dramatic music...NOW!) Pretty freaky-deaky stuff, huh?

Now the plot is basically like the above paragraph, so I’m not gonna waste yours, and what is infinitely more important, my time on rehashing it. Just rest assured that this is one scary fuckin film and it should mos’ def’ be watched. What makes this film scary is that it could/did actually happen. I mean it’s mind blowing scary to think about just floating around in the ocean with no land in sight and just waiting to become shark food. With this film all ya gotta do is just put your self in the actors’ place and I guarantee ya it’ll freak you out.

Ok, time for the scores...

BODY COUNT - 2- A small number, but shit, there isn’t but 10 people in the whole film.

SEX SCENES - 0 - No humping. BOO!

NUDITY NUMBER - 1.5 out of 5 - A bit of bush, a bit of boob.

SEVERINGS - 0 - Nada here either. But this film is still scary enough without amputations.

GORE SCORE - 1 - Not really much gore, but as I said, this film is more of a mind fuck.

MY SCORE - 4.75 out of 5 - Great movie! Great acting! Great music! Just all around one of the best horror movies out there. I know there are gonna be those who didn’t/won’t like it, and those people can suck it. This film is truly worth 80mins of your time. Would I lie to you guys? Hell to the naw! So get somewhere cool, grab some snacks, and kick back and give ‘Open Water’ a day in court.

Zombie Zane
Well, that’s all I got for now. Be sure and look at Sasha’s stuff as well. She just loves showing it off. So until next time, take care, stay a-scared and I am out!

PS!! Here's a little something to watch before ya vamos....

I WAS ABDUCTED BY ALIENS...THEY WANTED MY SPERM by: Zombie Zane

WELL GODDAMN HERE I AM!! What’s good? Zombie Zane here coming at ya live and always direct from the seven six one oh seven. This week at DEH we’re talking about alien abductions, the film ‘FIRE IN THE SKY,’ and I’m gonna be giving you my top ten horror/sci-fi movies. And of course we’ll be reviewing episode three in the Masters of Horror series. I know that MOH doesn’t have jack shit to do with our main topic, but who cares. Our blog, our rules. So why not kick on back and check out this weeks shit. It’s good and you will love it!! But on second thought, this episode of MOH DOES have a sci-fi element to it. SHIT, we rule! Not really, it was just a happy coincidence.

As I said in the afore mentioned paragraph, I’m gonna give you a list of my top ten cross genre horror films. Now on an average, I’m not a huge fan of pulsars, quasars, and moons and shit like that. The sci-fi genre is not one of my favorite genre’s but when you add the horror element into it, ehh, it gets better. And there are
a shit load of good horror/sci-fi films out there. So, on that note, let me give you my list:

ZOMBIE ZANE’S TOP TEN HORROR/SCI-FI MOVIES

10. At the number ten spot ya gotta have 1983's "TWILIGHT ZONE: THE MOVIE." Some of the names associated with this film of short stories are as follows...John Landis, Joe Dante, and of course, one Mr. Steven Spielberg. My favorite one of these shorts has got to be the one with the kid who can wish for something and make it happen. Remember his sister with no mouth? CREEPY!! And remember the story with the small creature who was fucking shit up on the wing of the airplane? MORE CREEPY!! And what about this line..."Wanna see something really scary?" Fucking classic!

9. Coming in at the 9 we got the film "THE FLY" from 1986. This film stars Jeff Goldblum and is directed by David Cronenberg. It also stars Geena Davis by the way. Ya can’t have a horror/sci-fi list without one or two monster movies and this one had to make the cut. Nothing better than a half fly- half man puking up acid everywhere and losing various body parts. And by the way, the original film isn’t that bad either so ya may wanna look into that as well.

8. Monsters, monsters and more monsters! Another monster movie that had to make the cut is 2008's American made monster movie, "CLOVERFIELD." Another one of those (now famous) found video tape deals. I must admit, it was a little over-hyped for me but nonetheless, I liked it. It was kinda cool to see a monster besides Kong and Godzilla fuck up New York. Plus this movie has a killer soundtrack.

7. Returning once again to the 80's, how about the film, "VIDEODROME." Another offering written and directed by David Cronenberg. This outer body horror/sci-fi flick stars James Woods and Deborah Harry (a.k.a. Blondie) This movie deals with mind control and conspiracies and is in my humble opinion, (was) a bit ahead of its time. So if you happen to stumble upon a TV channel that broadcasts extreme violence and torture, STAY AWAY!! Or you’ll end up like Max Renn.

6. Ok, out of the 80's and into the 2000's with the movie, "PANDORUM." Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster head up the cast in this sci-fi/horror thriller. Now this movie got shit on pretty good due to the convoluted plot but still, it had an element of horror in my opinion. I mean fast moving outer space creatures, dead bodies, and the possibility of going insane. If that ain’t horror, shiiiiiit. Pretty trippy stuff, Jack.

5. It would not, COULD NOT, be a true horror/sci-fi list without the movie, "ALIEN." Ridley Scott directed this iconic film which went on to spur three other films and even the whole AVP thing. (Which, eat ass.) But I digress. This film was everything you could possibly want in a horror/sci-fi feature. I’ll never forget the first time I saw the ‘chest burster’ burst out of that poor dudes gut. I could practically write a book about this film and what it meant to me but I’ll spare ya. Just if you haven’t seen it, YOU SUCK!! Just kidding. But all kidding aside, one of the best films ever made.

4. At the four, we have this here movie: 1998's "THE FACULTY." Horror master Robert Rodriguez and Kevin Williamson team up to make this high-school alien horror film. It’s one bad motherfucker. I loved everything about this movie. From the plot to the killer soundtrack this movie is one of my all time favorites in the cross genre horror.

3. Time to rock it old school! We goin’ back to the 50's y’all. 1953 to be exact. "WAR OF THE WORLDS." No, not the 2005 Spielberg remake. This is the real deal here. I know that there wasn’t CGI and all that cool shit that we have now, but this movie really is good. It has that old school nostalgic kinda feel to it. It’s the kinda film you watch on a Sunday afternoon and pig out on junk food, ya know? It’s considered to be the best sci-fi film of the 50's and it won an Oscar for special effects. So, on that note, GO WATCH IT!!

2. So if you’re still reading this, we’ve just about come to the end. And we’ve listed some pretty good films, no? Okay, the next to last film on my list, is the Carpenter remake of "THE THING." When I was a kid, this movie frightened the shit outta me!! Nasty little alien that takes control of your body and then discards you like a used condom. (Was that a bad analogy?) In any case, I DVR-ed this movie like a couple of days ago and plan to watch it over the weekend. You should join me.

1. Last but not least we have the film, "THE FOURTH KIND." This list wouldn’t be complete without an alien abduction movie now would it? Now this film is ‘loosely’ based on real events but it seems like now all the movies say that so you can really take it with a grain of salt. Nevertheless, this film stars Milla Jovovich as Dr. Abigail Tyler an Alaskan based psychotherapist whose patients video taped sessions offer some of the most disturbing counts of alien abduction.

Well, there it is. And kudos to you if you stuck with me for the whole list. And if you just scanned it and are still reading the end, well, kudos to you to I guess. That’s all I got for now, be sure and check out the talented Sasha Slaughter as she tells you about Travis Walton and the film, "FIRE IN THE SKY." Until next time, take care, stay a-scared and I am out.

Aliens and anal probes...WHAT WHAT! by Sasha Slaughter

This week at Dead End Horror, we'll be talking Sci-Fi/Horror!! I'll be writing a little about alien abductions...oohhh! More specifically, I'll be telling you about the supposed alien abduction of Travis Walton. Ever hear of him?? Me either. So sit back, relax and as always, enjoy!

Travis Walton (born February 10, 1953) was an American logger who claims he was abducted by a UFO on November 5, 1975, while working with his crew in Arizona. Walton was nowhere to be found after several days of searching, but reappeared five days later, after the supposed abduction. His case received a large amount of publicity and is one of the best known cases of an alleged alien abduction. It was one of the few alien abdcution cases that actually had several eyewitnesses, all claiming to have seen the same thing.

The abduction was said to have happened a little after 6 p.m. Walton and his crew were getting ready to go home after a long day of work. They piled in to Mike Rogers' , (who was Waltons boss) truck for the drive back to Snowflake. Shortly after beginning the drive home, the men reported seeing a bright light from behind the trees. They drove closer to the light and claim to have seen a large silvery disc hovering above a clearing. They estimated it to be about eight feet high and twenty feet in diameter. Rogers slowed the truck to get a better look, as he did Walton jumped from the truck and ran towards the disc. The other man shouted at Walton to get away from the disc and to get into the truck, but Walton stood there, awestuck and unable to move.

Walton was almost completely under the disc when it started to make high pitched mechanical noises and moving from side to side. Walton started to retreat from the object but a beam of blue-green light emanated from the disc and struck Travis. The crew reported that Walton then "rose a foot in the air, his arms and legs outstretched, and shot back stiffly some 10 feet, all the while in the glow of the light. His right shoulder hit earth and his body spralwed limply over the ground". Waltons boss was convinced that he was dead, so they drove away quickly afraid that the disc was chasing their truck. After some discussion, the men decided to go back and look for Walton. After a half hour of searching, he was nowhere to be found.

At about 7:30 one of Waltons coworkers called the police and initally claimed that one of their loggers was missing, not elborating on the fact that he was taken by a silvery disc. The men told their story to Sheriff Ellison, who later said "If they were acting, they were awfully good at it". Ellison notified Sheriff Gillesepie and he told Ellison to keep the men there until he could get there and question them. Rogers insisted that they go back to where it all happened to search for Walton with tracking dogs. There were no dogs available, but they decided to return to the scene. Many of the crew were too upset to help in the search, so the Sheriff elected to go back to Snowflake and relate the bad news to friends and family.

Meanwhile, back at the scene, officers were getting suspicious of the story told by the crew. There was no physical evidence to back up their claim. More police and volunteers arrived to help search for Walton, they found no trace of him. By the morning of November 6, several officals and volunteers continued to scour the area where Walton had went missing. Still there was no trace of him anywhere and the police were beginning to think this was a hoax made up to cover up a and accident or a homicide. After interviewing some of the crew, police found out that a few of them had an interest in UFO's and they were sure that all of this was a prank being played by Walton and his coworkers. The Sheriff suggested that the crew had a light a balloon and released it at the appropriate time, trying to fool everyone.

On Monday November 10, Rogers's remaining work crew took a polygraph test. They were asked if they had intentionally caused harm to Travis, if they knew where his body was buried, and if they were making up the UFO story. The polygraph tests proved conclusive, thus proving, for at at least the time being, that all of the men were being truthful about their knowledge of the incident. Following the outcome of the polygraph tests, Sheriff Gillespie announced that he accepted the UFO story and that "Theres no doubt they are telling the truth".

Just before midnight on November 10, Grant Neff, who was married to Travis' sister, received a phone call from someone who claimed to be Walton. He said the caller spoke in a weak voice and told Neff that he was at a gas station and for him to come and get him. Grant was doubtful and thought it was a prank until the caller got hysterical and told him that he needed help. Neff arrived to find Walton collapsed in a telephone booth, still wearing the exact same clothes he disappeared in. On the way back to Snowflake, Walton repeatedly mumbled about terrifying eyes and seemed scared and anxious. After finding out that he had been gone not for a few hours, but for five days, Walton was stunned and stopped speaking.

The Walton family kept Travis' return a secret, which led to charges that he was covering up evidence that he didn't want the police to see. Following a promise made to the authorities, Duane Walton drove Travis to Pheonix, Arizona to get a medical examination. The Waltons then learned that the doctors they went to see, were actually hypnotherapists. They left and went home. Duance received a phone call from Coral Lorenzen of APRO, a civilian UFO research group. She promised to have Travis examined by two certified medical doctors. Duane agreed and the examination was to begin on tuesday at 3:30 p.m. The examination revealed that Walton was in relatively good health except for a small red spot on Travis' elbow that looked like a hypodermic injection and the fact that his urine lacked ketones, which should have been higher due to him not eating for five days.

Travis agreed to tell Sheriff Gillepie his tale of abduction. He said the last thing he remembered was being struck by a beam of light. When he woke he was in a reclined bed, which he thought was a hospital bed. He realized he wasn't alone in the room, he saw three greyish figures in orange jumpsuits surrounding him. He realized these figures weren't human. He recalls them being below five feet, with large bald domed shaped heads, and looking like fetuses with enormous eyes, almost all brown with no white in them. He said it seemed like their eyes just stared right through him. He said he feared for his safety and jumped to his feet, ordering the creatures away. He said he grabbed a glass like cylinder from the shelf tried to break it to make it into a makeshift knife, but found the object unbreakable. After waving the cylinder and shouting at the creatures, they simply left the room.

Travis then said he left the "exam room" and went down a hallway which led to another spherical room with only a high-backed chair in it. He said he sat in the chair and was using a lever on the chair that brought up a screen of stars on the ceiling, he said after a while of playing with the lever he decided to stop when he saw a rectangle shape in the corner of the room, which he thought might be a door. On his way to the door, he heard a sound behind him and thought it was one of the creatures. Travis reported that instead he was pleasntly surprised to see a tall human figure wearing blue coveralls and a glass helmet. Travis said he asked the man a number of questions, and the man only looked at him and smirked. He motioned for Travis to follow him, so he followed the man down a hallway which lead to a door and a steep ramp down into a large room.

Travis was lead into yet another room, this one containing three more humans, a woman and two men. These three weren't wearing helmets, so Travis began questioning them, and they responded with the same smirk as the man with the helmet. They led him to a small table and had him sit down. Travis says he realized the woman was holding a device that looked like an oxygen mask in her hand, but before Travis could fight her off she placed it over his mouth and he passed out. When he woke up, he was a gas station in Heber, Arizona. The disc shaped craft was hovering over the highway and after a moment, the craft shot away in the night sky. After hearing the story of Waltons abduction, Sheriff Gillepie thought that perhaps Travis may have been hit on the head and drugged, then taken to a real hospital which he had mistaken for the alien spacecraft.

Gillepie asked for Travis to take a polygraph test and promised to keep it a secret. Duane agreed and they drove to Scottsdale, Arizona where they first met with APRO consultant James Harder. He hypnotized Walton and tied to get as much information as he could about the five days Walton was missing. It was reported that Travis encountered an impenetrable mental block and said that if the regression continued, he would die. Meanwhile, the two hypnotherepists Duane had taken Travis to see before, claimed that they talked to Walton for two hours and found many inconsistencies in his story. Gillespie had arranged for the polygraph, but somehow news of the polygraph was leaked and Duane Walton canceled, thinking that the Sheriff had somehow leaked the news. The National Enquirer wanted Walton to take a polygraph test and arranged for one after Duane made them promise that they have the power to veto any disclosure to the public.

The polygraph examiner insisted that Travis failed and at one point tried to cheat. He was asked if he had "colluded" with anyone to perpertrate a hoax. Travis said he didn't know the word so the examiner explained that it meant planning or conspiring with others. After completing the exam, it was determined that Travis was lying. The examiner said that "Based on his reaction on all charts, it is the opinion of the examnier that Walton, in concert with others, is attempting to perpertrate a UFO hoax, and he has not seen any spacecraft". He also reported that Travis would his breath, in an effort to "beat the machine."

In 1978 Walton published The Walton Experience in which he had his own narrative for the aftermath. And in 1993 Waltons book was adapted into the film Fire in the Sky directed by Robert Liberman and starring D.B. Sweeney as Travis Walton. The film found moderate success and ufologists' complaints about inaccuracies and exaggerations. Travis Walton and Mike Rogers made a few promotional appearances for the film and appeared on Larry King where he and Walton debated with Klass, who called Rogers a "goddamned liar". At the time of the Fire in Sky's release, Walton re-issued The Walton Experience under the same title as the film.

After the inital publicity subsided, Walton remained in Snowflake and became foreman at the lumber mill. He married Dana Rogers and they had several children. Over the years, Travis has occasionally appeared at UFO conventions or television specials. In 2009 he appeared on the game show Moment of Truth and when asked if he had really been abducted in 1975, he responded yes, an answer that the polygraph examiner had determined to be deceptive. In a 2011 interview, Walton revealed that he he is still suffering from post traumatic stress from the abduction.

Umm...wow!! To be honest, I don't believe this at all. I'm more of a believe it when I see it kind of person, you know?? I mean, some parts seem relatively believeable but then theres the back and forth between whether or not he lied during the polygraph test. What I'm wondering is what happened between the time he passed out from the oxygen mask thinger and woke up at the gas station?? Did they anal probe him? Did they dress him up in girl clothes? Did they touch his fun bits?? IDK!! So, anyway, theres all the things you need to know about Travis Walton, supposed alien abductee. Now don't forget to check out Zombie Zanes list of top Sci-fi/Horror movies and his review Masters of Horror episode 3: Dance of the Dead. You'll know it before I type it, check back next for more new stuff at Dead End Horror. Thanks mucho!!

Ohh nooo! Don't probe me! by Sasha Slaughter

Heyyyy!!! It's that time once again for more ass kicking stuff here at Dead End Horror. Since our theme this week is horror/sci-fi, I'm going to be telling you a little about a feller named Travis Walton, who supposedly got abducted by aliens. They made a movie based on his story and it's called Fire in the Sky. It came out in 1993 and was directed by Robert Liberman. I'll be giving a movie review of it and a little info in a different article about the abduction. Here it goes!!

The movie starts off in Snowflake, Arizona with a truck speeding out of the woods. The truck pulls into bar and five visibly shaken men get out of the truck and walk slowly into the bar. They sit down and Mike Rogers, the boss of the logging company that the men work for, goes to the pay phone and calls the police to report his co-worker and best friend Travis Walton missing. The Sheriff shows up and question the men tirelessly about what exactly happened. The men all tell the same story.

They tell the Sheriff that while on the way home they see bright red lights above the trees. They followed the lights to get a closer look. They stopped a few feet away from what looks like a saucer hovering in the sky. Travis immediately gets out of the truck and runs toward the saucer, trying to get a better look. The men in the truck yell for him to come back but Walton stands there staring at the sky. Just then a beam of blue-green lights comes from the craft and strikes Travis and he falls to the ground and doesn't move. Travis' co-workers get scared and they take off in the truck. They stop a few feet down the road and Mike tells everyone to get out because he's going back to get Travis. Upon returning there is no sign of Travis anywhere, or the saucer they saw in the sky.

The cops don't believe the story and they suspect that the men may have murdered Travis and are making this story up. The next morning there are volunteers, men on horses, dogs, and helicopters combing the woods where Travis disappeared. One of the dogs finds something buried in the ground, and they believe they found Travis Waltons body, but it turns out to be the skeletal remains of an animal. Mike Rogers runs into some little creeper named Jarvis who believes in UFO's and wants to hear his story so he gives Mike his card and tells him to call if he wants to talk.

Meanwhile the police are trying to get the men to confess to the murder of Travis Walton because no one believes their UFO story. The entire town is convinced they had something to do with the disappearance and possible death of Walton. The Sheriff of the town asks Mike and his men to take a lie detector test to prove their innocence, but they refuse. Dallis, one of Travis' co-workers isn't cooperating with the investigation so Mike and TC go to find him and ask him to cooperate and take the lie detector test with him and he agrees. The town is holding a meeting to talk about whats going on with Travis' disappearance. Everyone is convinced that Travis is dead and Mike and his crew are responsible. Just then Mike appears at the meeting and pretty much tells everyone to shut the fuck up and if they have anything to say, to say it to his face. No one says a word and he walks out.

The five men go to the police station to take lie detector tests. The examiner asks them questions about the night of Travis' disappearance and if they did actually see a saucer in the sky. All of the men have the same answers except for Dallis. His test was inconclusive so the Sheriff tells them to come back tomorrow to do it again. Mike spazzes and tells him they're not coming back. After they walk out of the police station the examiner reveals that aside from the inconclusive test, all of the men passed the polygraph test.

Mike goes home after the test and his wife tells him they've been getting prank phone calls for the past few days. The phone rings and Mike answers it. The voice on the other end says that he's Travis and that he's at a gas station and he needs help. Mike, Travis' brother, Mikes sister Dana, and TC go to see if it was infact Travis calling from a gas station in Arizona. They pass one gas station with pay phones but theres no one there. They think it was a hoax but Mike drives to another gas station in town and they pull in. Dana sees someone huddled up and naked by an ice machine and they all realize it's Travis. He's freaking out and screaming when people try to touch him so Mike calls the creepy UFO guy to come talk to Travis.

The UFO guy shows up and starts taking pictures of Travis and asking for a urine sample. A huge fight breaks out and Travis sits there, staring blankly out the window until he sees what looks like an alien handprint on the window, and he starts freaking out. They end up calling 911 and he's rushed to the hospital. By this time he's completely silent and as they wheel him to the ER he's having flashbacks of what happened to him. After he calms down, Mike visits him and admits to him that they left Travis after he was struck by the light beam and that he came back to look for him. Travis got angry that they left him and Mike told him that it was his fault, that if he hadn't have left the truck, it never would have happened.

Travis gets out of the hospital and runs into the Sheriff who accuses Travis of making up the story so he can sell it to the tabloids to get money. He says he doesn't believe Travis and he'll be there when Travis decides to tell him the truth. They have a welcome home party for Travis and he starts to have more flashbacks of his ordeal. They become intense and he freaks out and hides under a table. His flashbacks are of him waking up in a cacoon like thing and falling out of it, but he floats. On his way out of the room he's in, he stumbles across a dead human body in one of the cacoon things he was in. He freaks out and tries to get out of the room. He floats into another room filled with what he thinks are spacesuits, but actually turn out to be aliens. They wake up and catch him and then drag him down a narrow hallway.

They put him on a table and rip of his clothes and then wrap him in some type of latex. They cover his whole body, including his face. Then one alien uses a metal object to cut out a whole in the latex covering his mouth, and a whole to expose an eye. They put some type of brown gooey stuff in his mouth and then they put a metal tool down his throat. They then pry his eye open and this white milky stuff goes into his eye. A metal laser comes from the ceiling and attaches itself to the thing in his mouth and a tiny drill comes out of it and goes towards his exposed eye, just before it reaches his eye, he wakes up in the hospital psychologists room.

He told the shrink and his close friends and family what happened and the shrink believes he's telling the truth. The Sheriff heard the whole thing but is still convinced they are lying and says he'll be there when they decide to stop lying. Fast forward two and a half years later and Travis is married to Mikes little sister Dana and they have a little boy and a girl on the way. Mike stopped talking to Travis the day at the hospital when he told Travis this whole thing was his fault. Travis decides to visit Mike and try to talk to him. They go for a ride and Travis takes Mike to the place where he was abducted. Travis admits that it is his fault and he never should have gotten out of the truck. He tells Mike he's not angry with him and they become friends again. AWWWWWW!!

Although I don't really know if I believe that this happened, this movie was actually pretty good. The actors were great and the acting itself was believeable, which is important. The special effects weren't amazing, it was 1993 afterall, but they looked real and the aliens were hella creepy! The scenes of his flashbacks where the aliens were experimenting on him were great. They showed everything the aliens did and it looked so real. There were some differences between the movie and what Walton described happened to him. The writers of the movie actually got complaints from Ufologists because they said it was exaggerated and some of it was inaccurate. One of the most inaccurate parts of the movie was his time spent in the UFO. It has almost no resemblance to what Walton said actually happened. Overall I'd give this a 2.75 out of 5. It was pretty good and I actually enjoyed watching, it kept me wanting to know what was going to happen next. So there you have it gals and ghouls. Don't forget to check out Zombie Zanes top Sci-fi/Horror movies and his review of Masters of Horror episode 3: Dance of the Dead. Black eyed creepers!! by Sasha Slaughter

This week at Dead End Horror it's gonna be a bit of a mixed bag (As Zane calls it). We'll be talking black eyed children, a review of Masters of Horror episode one ( Incident On and Off a Mountain road), Zombie Zanes top summer themed movies, and his review of The Slit Mouthed Woman. Sit back, relax, && get scared =)

Let me tell you a little about the Black Eyed Kids (or B.E.K. for short). The B.E.K. phenomema supposedly started in 1998 when Brian Bethel, a jouarnalist from Abilene, Texas reportedly saw two children with black eyes around the age of 10-14 approach his car. He was writing a check when they knocked on his window and asked if he could take them home because they forgot their money to go to the movies. Immediately Bethal felt and overwhelming sense of fear and uneasiness.

Bethel also wrote that they looked normal and were dressed almost identical in hoodies and pants. Boy 1, as Bethel called him, was the leader of the two. He did all of the talking while Boy 2 looked around nervously and never spoke. Boy 1 repeatedly asked for Bethel to unlock the car doors and let them in. He said the boys diction and tone of voice sounded more like a young adult rather than a child, which frightened him. Boy 1 continued trying to coax him into unlocking the doors, and at one point Bethel found himself reaching to unlock the doors before quickly stopping himself. It wasn't until after he really got a good look at the two did he discover that both boys had completely black eyes. No iris, no pupils. Nothing at all, just pure black. It was then that Bethel realized that boy 2 was getting nervous and uneasy, possibly realizing that Bethel knew what was happening.

Boy 1 pleaded with Bethel saying:
"WE CAN'T COME IN UNLESS YOU TELL US IT'S OKAY. LET ... US .... IN!" his voice full of anger and panic. Bethel quickly put the car and reverse and sped out of the parking lot, looking in his rearview mirror, but seeing nothing where the boys were standing. He posted the story of his encounter online, you can read it here (http://forum.prisonplanet.com/index.php?topic=154527.0)

Most accounts of B.E.K. are said to happen at peoples homes. There is a knock on the door and on the other side, a kid aged anywhere from 12-17 waiting patiently for you to answer. They have been said to dress in old fashioned clothes and also newer, more modern clothing. Some report a foul smelling odor emitting from the B.E.K. also. People have said that when they see the B.E.K. they sense an overwhelming feeling of dread, fear, and wrongess. The B.E.K. always ask to be invited inside claiming they are lost or are having car trouble. There are no credible accounts of anyone actually letting them in their home, due to the fear one feels while in their presence. Turning the B.E.Ks away almost always infuriates them and they appear to be more impatient and demand that you let them in. It is said that the B.E.Ks wont ever actually leave until the person they approach has closed the door or left the scene of the encounter.

More recently in 2009, a Marine stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina reportedly had an encounter with the B.E.K. The Marine was hanging out in the barracks while most of the other Marines were at home or out drinking when he heard a knock at his door. At first he thought it was his roommate, but when he opened the door he found two children standing in the hallway. Immediately upon looking at the children, the Marine instantly felt the need to shut and lock the door. He noticed that the children had pitch black eyes and felt like they were sucking him in, trying to make him do what they asked of him. He instantly felt frightened for his life, and as soon as one of the children stepped towards him, panic took over and he shut and locked the door as fast as he could. He heard heard constant knocking on his door for the next 5 mintues, and then knocking on his window, and then it abruptly stopped. You can read his story here (http://www.ghosttheory.com/2010/03/15/the-strange-creepy-phenomena-black-eyed-kids).

There are very few reports of B.E.K. and they have only just surfaced in the last ten years. Some believe that the B.E.K. phenomenon is just an Urban Legend. Some imply that the B.E.K. could be ghosts or demons, more specifially vampires because the tales frequently emphasize the fact that the children must be admitted or invited into a home or vehicle, which is reminiscent of vampire legends. Evidence also suggests that B.E.K. are a human/alien hybrids, though nothing exists to support the claim.

So there you have it, a little info on the black eyed children. I'll admit, I'm a bit skeptical about the existence of B.E.K. It has all of the signs of an Urban Legend, but maybe I'm wrong. Maybe for saying that I just might encounter the B.E.K....Yikes! Scared??? Maybe you should be. If any of you ever happen to run into these mysterious black eyed children, tread carefully and whatever you do, don't let them in. Your life may depend on it.

Review this by Sasha Slaughter

Movie review time!! This week Zane and I watched Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. The movie is about Henry Lee Lucas, who was once listed as America's most prolific serial killer. Don't forget to check out Zanes other article about true horror movies.

The movie came out in 1986 (it's older than me!) and was directed by John McNaughton. It starts out with several scenes of dead bodies, all women. It didn't show the women being killed, but it's pretty obvious they were murdered by Henry. And one particular scene was gross, a dead half naked hooker with what looked like a coke bottle coming out her face....ewww! He often stalked his victims until he was able to get them alone to kill them. He lived with a man named Otis, and his sister Becky that came to live them after being abused by her husband. Otis confided in Becky that Henry admitted to killing his mom, and Henry later told Becky that he did. While Henry and Otis were out one night they picked up two hookers and went into a back alley and Henry proceeded to break both of the hookers necks and dump them into the alley. That was when Otis found out that Henry was killing people.

After spazzing out because he couldn't get good reception on the tv, Otis kicks it and breaks it so he and Henry go to see this guy in a garage to buy a tv. He doesn't offer them a fair price and they decide to leave until the guy gets smart. Henry stabs the guy in the hand and then in chest and then smashes a tv over the guys head and tells Otis to plug the tv in, which electrocutes the guy. Eeeek! After that Henry starts to teach Otis how to find people to kill by pretending the car was broken down and when someone stopped to help, Otis shot them. (My gun is bigger than your gun!...ha.) They took a video camera from the dead tv guy and filmed themselves killing a family in their home.

Becky decides that it's time for her to move back home and asks Henry if he wants to go with her and he says he'll think about it. He takes her out to dinner and they come home and Otis is passed out so Becky takes Henry into her room and starts undressing him when Otis walks in. Henry leaves to get cigarettes and comes back to find Otis raping Becky (his own sister....PERV!) and he throws him off of here. They start to fight and Becky grabs a comb and stabs Otis in the eye and then Henry stabbed him in the chest and killed him. Becky freaks out and Henry takes Otis into the bathroom, drains his blood, and dismembers him to he can fit him into trash bags. They pack their stuff and leave and on the way out of town they stop to dump Otis's body into the river.

On they way to the motel Becky says that she loves Henry and he says he loves her too (Well actually he said "I guess I love you too"..how romantic!..sarcasm) and they rent a room and talk for a while before he suggests that they go to bed. In the morning Henry leaves the hotel alone. He pulls over onto the side of the road and pulls Becky's suitcase from the trunk of the car and puts it on the ground, gets in the car and drives away. There is blood coming from the suitcase, so it's obviously Becky's body inside of the suitcase (so much for love huh??).

Thats it for Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. It was kind of hard to review really. There really wasn't much of a plot to it. Overall I'd give it a 2.5. The acting was ok, there was some blood, a few murder scenes, a rape scene (they didn't really show much though) a little nudity ( boobs and a butt) and the total body count was 15. There was alot of death, but not many actual death scenes. So there you have it! Until next week, take care and check back next friday!!

HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A FREAK SHOW by: Zombie Zane

WHAT IT DO! WHAT IT DO! Zombie Zane here as usual coming at ya live and direct from deep in the heart of the seven six one oh seven. It’s that time once again for me to share with you another movie review. This week Sasha and I were all about ‘true story’ horror. Ya know, films and shit that are inspired by true events. And there are a ton! So after reading this movie review, be sure and check out our other stuff.
For this week’s film, Sasha and I decided on ‘HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER.’ Have you seen that one? No? Well shit. Kick on back for a sec and let me tell ya what I thought about it. Or you can read Sasha’s review. Either way, take a sec and educate yourself.

‘HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER’ is a 1986 horror film directed and co-written by John McNaughton. It stars Michael Rooker as Henry, Tom Towles as Otis, and Tracy Arnold as Becky. It runs just over 80mins and can be found on Netflix instant watch. So if after you read this and wanna check it out, it’s readily available.

So this film is based loosely on serial killer Henry Lee Lucas. I say loosely because this film is more based on his accounts of what happened rather than the stone-cold facts of the case. He confessed to like 600 killings but I think he was only found guilty of 11.

Overall I liked this movie okay. It’s not the best Lucas film I’ve seen, but it’s the most unique. There is another film about Henry Lee Lucas that stars Antonio Sabato Jr. I think the name of it is ‘DRIFTER’ and that can be found on Netflix as well. On second thought, we should’ve reviewed that one. I caught the last hour of it on Chiller a few months back and was really impressed with it. But alas, we didn’t so whattaya gonna do.

SO this film focuses on Lucas as he leaves a trail of dead bodies in and around the Chicago area. Sometimes his perverted sister-fucking roommate helps him out and sometimes Lucas rides solo and does the murders himself. Really there ain’t much to the plot, it’s just about a dude going around and killing people. It is dark and there is some pretty harsh content, and it isn’t your typical slasher/serial killer film. No half nekkid chick running and falling down in the woods so it gets some cool points for that. In fact, considering the year it came out, it is a total different beast than what was out there at the time. The mid 80's was saturated with your typical slasher films. Believe me, I own a lot of them. Ok, let Zombie Zane break this movie down a lil further for ya:

ZOMBIE ZANE’S BREAKDOWN:

BODY COUNT: 14 (Now, not all the murders were shown, but the bodies were.)

SEVERINGS: 1 (One noggin gettin lopped off!)

NUDITY NUMBER 2 out of 5 (Boobs and butt. No bush, no panty hamster, and no tool shed.)

SEX SCENES : 0 (I don’t count rape as sex scenes. It’s gotta be consensual to count.)

GORE SCORE: 2 out of 5 (Not overly bloody, but there is some violent content)

MY SCORE: 2.5 out of 5. (Middle of the road for me. Like I said, ‘Drifter’ may be a bit better)
Well, there it is. Make sure you read Sasha’s review as well. It’s always cool to check out her stuff. Ok, then. That’s all there is and there ain’t no more. Until next time, take care, stay a-scared and I am out.

IT'S TRUE!! IT'S TRUE by: Zombie Zane

YEP-YEP-YEP-YEP let’s do this motherfucker! Zombie Zane here one more time from the seven six one oh seven. Hope all is well wherever you may dwell. Hey, that rhymed. I rule. Okay, this week at Dead End Horror, My partner in crime the lovely Sasha Slaughter and myself will be talking about true story horror movies. Sasha has written a kick ass article on the story of Sylvia Likens. Those events inspired the book and the movie, ‘THE GIRL NEXT DOOR.’ Which by the way is some of Jack Ketchum’s shit. If you’re unfamiliar with him and the story of Sylvia Likens, then you should look into it. It’s not an easy film (or book) for that matter to watch/read but it is horror in it’s absolute. As for me, I’m gonna be listing a few of my favorite true story horror films and writing a review on ‘HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER.’ Yeah, I know we did serial killer shit last week, but this film is based on a true story and it’s on Netflix So there ya go. Ok, enough foreplay, let’s get to my list.

ZOMBIE ZANE’S FAVORITE TRUE STORY HORROR MOVIES

The first movie on my list is PSYCHO (1968). By now everybody knows the plot of this film. If not, egads and yikes you suck and are a total tool. But did you know that the character Norman Bates was inspired by serial killer Ed Gein? Mr. Ed was all about digging up the graves of women who reminded him of his dead mother. He also made a woman suit out of their skin. He was arrested in 1957 for killing two people and spent the rest of his life in a puzzle factory.

The next film to make my list of fav’s is, ‘JAWS.’ That’s right, the 70's classic about a 25 foot killer shark. Again, the plot is well-known so I’ll skip that part. This film was inspired by a series of shark attacks that plagued the Jersey shore over a two week period in the early 1900's. (1916 to be exact.) During the a 12 day span, 5 people were attacked, 4 bit the dust. A seven foot great white shark was captured and in it’s stomach were human remains. (Cue up the Jaws theme song!)

Ok, what about this film? Ever seen the movie ‘DEAD RINGERS?’ This 1988 horror film is about twin OBGYN’S that like to share women. Beverly, the more sensitive of the twins, falls in love with their latest ‘toy’ and when she finds out what the twins have been doing, she shit-cans them both sending Beverly into a downward spiral of drug abuse and dragging his brother down with him. Now here’s what really happened....In 1975 the rotted and emaciated bodies of twin OBGYN’S Stewart and Cyril Marcus were found in their apartment. The cause of death was an extreme withdrawal due to an addiction of barbiturates. It’s unknown to what lead to their horrible state.

Here’s another great horror film that was inspired by true events. THE HILLS HAVE EYES (1977). This film is about a family of violent cannibals who terrorize a vacationing family traveling in an RV across the desert. This film was inspired by the legend of one Alexander Bean. Bean was the head of a 40 person clan that killed and munched over 1000 people. However, as cool as that sounds, most historians really don’t believe that Bean ever existed. As for me, I don’t know if he did or didn’t. And honestly I don’t give shit number one. It’s a cool fuckin’ story though huh?

Obie Kaybe. The last movie on my list, and the one that Sasha and I are gonna review is one of my all time favorite films. Ever heard of the movie, ‘HENRY : PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER.?’ This 1986 film is about a serial killer named Henry who, with the help of his roommate Otis kills hundreds of people. Neato huh? The film was inspired by serial killer Henry Lee Lucas. The film is really based more on Lucas’s accountants rather than cold hard facts. Lucas confessed to over 600 killings. (He did that to improve his conditions while in custody.) Lucas was found guilty on 11 counts of murder and spent the rest of his life in the big house.

Well, there you go. Some of my favorite true story horror films. Be sure and check out Sasha’s stuff as well. Until next time, take care, stay a-scared and I am out.

Ohh the true horror!!! by Sasha Slaughter

Hey there creeps and creepettes, Sasha Slaughter here && this week on Dead End we're talking true horror. So I'll be talking a little about Sylvia Likens. Never heard of her?? Neither did I until a few days ago. Her story was actually the inspiration for Jack Ketchum's book, "The girl next door" and it was also adapted as a film. In addition to the info I'm about to give you about Sylvia Likens, Zane && I will also be reviewing Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer and he'll be doing a list of true horror movies. Yay!!!

Sylvia Marie Likens was born January 3, 1949. She was the daughter of Betty and Lester Likens, who were carnival workers. She was the middle child, born between two sets of twins. Sylvia was often left with relatives due to her parents work schedule. She and her siblings had had at least fourteen different addresses over the years, due to her parents moving to find work. In 1965 Sylvia and her sister Jenny, who was disabled from polio, were living with their mother Betty in Indianapolis when she got arrested and jailed for shoplifting. Their father, who was separated from their mother at the time, arranged to have Sylvia and Jenny board with Gertrude Baniszewski in exchange for $20 a week.

Baniszewski was described as haggard, underweight, and was reporedly suffering from depression due to many failed marriages. She often took her anger out on Sylvia and Jenny, beating them with paddles when the $20 payments weren't sent on time. Shortly after arriving at Gertrudes home, Sylvia began being abused by Gertrude, Gertrudes children (Paula and John) and two neighborhood boys, Coy Hubbard and Richard Hobbs. Baniszewski focused most of the abuse on Sylvia, accusing her of stealing candy and humiliating her when Sylvia admitted that she had once had a boyfriend. She kicked Sylvia in the genitals and often accused her of being pregnant. Gertrudes daughter Paula, who was actually the one pregnant at the time, became enraged and knocked Sylvia to the floor. Later reports showed that Sylvia was never pregnant.

Sylvia was accused of spreading rumors around her high school that Stephanie and Paula (Gertrudes daughters) were prostitutes. These rumors caused Stephanie's boyfriend, Coy Hubbard to physically attack Likens. Gertrude often encouraged the neighborhood children to tourment Sylvia, by putting cigarettes out on her skin and forcing her to remove her clothes and insert a coke bottle into her vagina, on at least two separate occasions.

After beating Sylvia to get her to admit to stealing a gym uniform that Mrs. Baniszewski wouldn't buy for her to take gym class, Gertrude pulled Sylvia out of school and did not let her leave the house. She was held prisoner there. She wasn't allowed to use the bathroom, and when Sylvia urinated in her bed, she was locked in the cellar and forbidden to use the toilet for days. After that, she was forced by Gertrude to consume feces and urine. Gertrude began carving the words "I'm a prostitute and proud of it!" with a hot needle into Sylvia's stomach. When Baniszewski wasn't able to finish, Richard Hobbs completed the carving on her stomach. Richard Hobbs, with the help of Gertrudes 10 year old daughter Shirley, then burnt the number "3" into Sylvia's chest with a heated eye bolt.

Sylvia tried to escape after she over heard Gertrudes plan to have her dumped in a wooded area nearby. Unfortunately Sylvia was caught before she made it to the front door. As punishment for trying to escape, Sylvia was tied in the basement and fed only crackers. On October 26, 1965 after several beatings, burnings, and scalding baths, she died of a brain hemorrhage and malnutrition. When Stephanie and Richard realized that she wasn't breathing, they attempted to give her mouth to mouth resuscitation before realizing that she was dead. Sylvia Likens was 16 years old and had only been with the Baniszewski's for three months before her untimely death.

Stephanie then sent Hobbs to a payphone to call the police. When the police arrived, Gertrude handed them a note that she had forced Sylvia to write just days before she was murdered. It said that she agreed to have sexual relations with several boys in exchange for money and that they had dragged her away in their car, beaten her up, burned her several times and carved the inscription into her skin. Upon leaving the home, Jenny approached the police officers and told them that if they could get her out of the house, she would tell them everything.

During the trial, Baniszewski denied having anything to do with Likens death, by pleading not guilty by reason of insanity. She claimed to have been too distracted by her mental health and severe depression to control her children. While attorneys for the young people on trial (Paula and John Baniszewski, Richard Hobbs, and Coy Hubbard) claimed that the they were pressured by Gertrude. When Gerturdes 11 year old daughter Marie took the stand she broke down and admitted that she had been forced to heat the needle that was used to carve things into Sylvia Liken's skin, and that she had seen her mother beating Sylvia. It was said that during the closing statments of the trial Baniszewki's lawyer said "I condemn her for being a murderess...but I say she's not responsible because she's not all there!" and then proceeded to tap his head.

Richard Hobbs and Coy Hubbard spent two years in jail. In 1971, Paula and Gertrude were granted another trial. Paula pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and was released two years later. Gertrude was again convicted of first degree murder. In 1985 she came up for parole and was released due to good behavior. She changed her name to Nadine van Fossan and moved to Iowa. She died of lung cancer on June 16, 1990. It was reported that when Jenny Likens saw Baniszewki's obituary in the newspaper, she clipped it out and mailed it to her mother with a note reading "Some good news. Damn old Gertrude died. Ha ha ha! I'm happy about that".

Richard Hobbs died of lung cancer at 21 years of age after being released from the reformatory. After a middle school massacre, John Baniszewski made a speech in which he said that not all criminals are beyond help and described how he turned his life around. He died at the General Hospital in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on May 19, 2005 following a lengthy illness with diabetes. He had a wife and three children. Coy Hubbard, Stephanie Baniszewki's boyfriend who beat Sylvia and reportedly practiced judo on her, was in and out of prison before being charged and acquitted with the muder of two men. He died on June 23, 2007 of a heart attack in Shelbyville, Indiana. He had a wife and five children, seventeen grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Paula Baniszewki was seventeen and the oldest of Gertrudes children was given a sentence of twenty years to life for her part in Sylvia's death. While in jail, she gave birth to a baby girl (which she named Gertrude) but was forced to give her up for adoption. She tried to escape from prison in 1971, both attempts were unsuccessful. Finally in 1972 she was paroled and changed her name. She is said to be married and living on a small farm in Iowa. The murder charge against Stephanie Bansizewski was dropped after she testified against the others. She changed her name and became a school teacher. She is married and has several children.

The other children in the neighborhood who helped torture Sylvia (Anna Ruth Siscoe, Judy Darlene Duke, Michael John Monroe, and Randy Gordon Lepper) had the charges against them dropped. The house at 3850 East New York Street in which Sylvia Likens was murdered stood vacant for years and was finally demolished on April 23, 2009. The property became a church parking lot.

There it is! The story of Sylvia Likens. Sad isn't it??? Hope you enjoyed it! Don't forget to check out Zanes true horror movie list && his review of Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. And you know the drill, check back next week when Dead End returns with new stuff! Take care =)
