Silent Hill, Deadly Hill By: Sasha Slaughter

Well hey there DEH fans!! Thanks for stopping by and peeping us out. If you read Zane's Monday post, which you damn well better have, then you'd know this week it's all about movies from the 2000's...Yay! We've done 80's and 90's horror, so why not continue with the trend, right? Anyway, with that being said, I'll be telling you about the film Silent Hill. It was written by Roger Avary and directed by Christophe Gans. It was released in 2006 and is an adaptation of the Silent Hill series of survival horror games created by Konami. Now let me tell you a little about it!
The eerie deserted town of Silent Hill draws a young mother to find a cure for her adopted child's illness. Rose will not accept the doctor's diagnosis that her daughter Sharon should be permanently institutionalized for psychiatric care. Rose takes her daughter and flees to Silent Hill, the name of the town which Sharon often calls out while dreaming or sleep walking. She scours the abandoned town for answers, while ignoring the protests of her husband Chris. Soon it becomes clear that Silent Hill is unlike any place that Rose has ever been. It is smothered by fog and falling ashes, inhabited by a variety of strange creatures and beings, and sometimes overcome by living darkness that literally transforms everything it touches. As Rose searches for Sharon, who ran away when they got to Silent Hill, she begins to learn the story of the strange town and quickly realizes that she and Sharon may be pawns in a deadly game.
Spooky spooky! This movie was ok..a bit drawn out in certain scenes. I will admit that I kind of didn't get it the first time I watched it. And I didn't get much more the second time I watched it.The ending threw me off a little, I won't give it away for those of you who haven't seen it. It was a bit confusing really. Rotten tomatoes gave Silent Hill a 30 out of 100, sooo...that's not too good. There were a few unnecessary scenes too, and alot of pointless back stories. Don't get me wrong, the movie itself looked great, scary creatures, awesome special effects, but I don't know, it just fell kind of short.
I didn't really understand the story, and the ending was kind of ambiguous, kind of letting the person watching draw their own conclusion as to what may or may not have happened. The Screen writer Roger Avary used the town of Centralia, Pennsylvania as an inspiration for the fictional town of Silent Hill, which is pretty cool.
I know a thing or two about good 'ol PA. Overall I'd give Silent Hill a 2 out of 5. I actually wanna watch it again to see if I get it this time...or maybe not. Anyway, thanks for stopping by Dead End Horror, and don't forget to see what Zane's up to.

Fighting a Wolf with Small Vodka Bottles and my Large Ball Sac By: Zombie Zane

Heya Dead End Horror fans that strip naked and answer the door when the pizza guy comes. What’s good? Well, it’s motherfucking Monday and that means it’s back to work. This week at Dead End Horror Sasha and I will be talking about horror movies from the 2000's.

Fuck it, we’ve done the 80's, 90's, and well, time to hit the 00's. Why the hell not? I’ll be doing a list of lesser known films from the 00's, and maybe a couple of movie reviews. Sasha, who the hell knows what she’s gonna come up with? But as usual, she’ll rock the shit out of it.
By the way, have you guys been watching ‘The Walking Dead?’ Man, last night’s episode was fucking killer! There’s only like three episodes left so you know it’s about to get even better. Fucking Shane is such a d-bag! But I love his character. I kinda dig Dale too. I want him to come over and tell me a story or something. He seems so wise.

Speaking of shows, anybody else watching ‘The River?’ I’m not sure I’m into this one or not. I’ve seen all but the newer episode and the verdict is still out. It’s okay, but as of now I’m not like blown away or anything. Not like I was during ‘American Horror Story.’ That was a bad motherfucker right there, Jack.
Itching for a scratch! Why I typed that, I don’t know. But it sounded cool. Okay, I guess that’s all I got for you today. Be sure and come back all week to see what the fuck we’re doing with our horror movies from the 00's. Or 2K horror movies. However you wanna say/write it.

Until tomorrow, take care, stay a-scared, and I am out. Sasha and I are about to go sprinkle the infield. See ya tomorrow!
