THREE CHEERS FOR SWEET REVENGE By: SASHA SLAUGHTER

Josh Lucas's butt...WHAT WHAT?? Don't ask. You don't wanna know. And a big howdy ho to our fellow horror lovers out there. Sasha Slaughter here with you for our last full week of posting. Don't fret, we'll return soon. Zane will get more into detail about that. But let me go into some detail about the film I'll be telling you about today. I'll be telling you about the movie The Final. It was written by Jason Kabolati and directed by Joey Stewart. And here's something you may or may not know, The Final was actually part of the After Dark Horror Fest in 2010. Awesome! Let me tell you a little more about it.

Dane, an unpopular high school student and his group of outcast friends (Ravi, Emily, and Jack) decide to take revenge into their own hands after being tormented and harassed in school. Their plan includes gruesome forms of torture learned in history class, and some things they've learned from horror movies. The friends plan a Halloween party at an old house that Dane has recently inherited and decide that this is where their revenge will take place. They invite only the kids who have tormented them over the years, and leave out Kurtis, a popular kid that actually talks to them and treats them well.

During the days leading up to the party, the friends go over the details very carefully and make sure everything is in place. Most of the outcast's are shown to have disturbing family lives, driving them further into depression and thoughts of suicide. Dane's parents fight constantly, Ravi's family is cold and distant, Jack's father ignores him completely, and Emily's family tries to change her and doesn't understand her.

Their family lives combined with constantly being tortured by bullies, pushes the outcasts over the edge with their cruel plan for revenge. Dane sends out the invitations, telling the invited guests to wear a costume. Right before the party, they set up camera's and various equipment at the place where the party will be held. The guests start arriving and are greeted at the door with several different alcoholic drinks, all laced a drug, causing the kids to fall unconscious. When the kids wake up, they find themselves chained together, with the outcasts wearing masks and costumes inspired by horror movies.

They are seeking revenge for the years of torment and want to torture their worst enemies. A teen named Miles starts mouthing off and says that it must be some Halloween prank, so Jack applies a cattle gun to his face and his knees to shut him up. This is only the beginning out the gruesome torture that takes place. The outcasts have got plenty more tricks up their sleeves for their fellow classmates and tormentors. And by the end of the night, will the outcasts get what they've been longing for? Will they get their revenge and finally be at peace?

Crazy kids! If you want to know if Jack, Emily, Ravi, and Dane did in fact get their revenge, check out The Final on Netflix or DVD to find out! So, I actually liked this movie. And it's about an actual controversial subject, and that's bullying. Can you imagine all of the people in the world that have thought about doing the things depicted in the movie to their bullies? For real. The first 20 mins or so is kind of slow, almost to the point where you'd want to stop watching. But after the poor set up and plot development, you get to main event, which is the sadistic torture of the bullies.

And the quiet, kid named Jack playing the banjo during some of the more sadistic scenes added an element of creepiness. I do think though the film was more about justice than just sheer torture. The outcasts wanted justice and revenge on those who tortured them, so they tormented their bullies in return. The acting wasn't that great, but I do think that the characters of Dane and Emily were played very well.

I definitely think that this movie is aimed more toward teenagers than anything, but you can be bullied at any age. Overall I'd give The Final a 2.5 out of 5. It was a decent movie with some good torture scenes, but the acting was really awful. And during some of the torture scenes, the actors didn't even look scared. There really wasn't much blood or gore, but it was the sadistic ways that the outcasts tortured  their bullies that made it good.

I mean, these kids were effing crazy! Not really sure if I'd recommend this film, it's not really a "must see". I mean, it would be cool to watch on a night when you have nothing to do, and you maybe feel like watching a revenge movie. So now you know how I feel about that, how about you go see what Zane's got going on in his part of the world?? Thanks for stopping by Dead End Horror.

I WANT TO SEE THE LIFE RUN OUT OF YOU BY: SASHA SLAUGHTER

Well hey there Dead End Horror fanatics!! Have you had your shower yet today?? I hope so! We don’t' want you funking up our blog page!

Today I'll be telling you about a movie called Ghost Story. It was released in 1981 and was directed by John Irvin. And this movie was based on a Peter Straub novel of the same name. This film stars Fred Astaire, Melvyn Douglas, Douglas Fairbanks Jr., John Houseman and Craig Wasson.

In 1982 Ghost Story was nominated for Saturn Award for Best Horror Film. And at the box office it earned a respectable $23,371,905. It was the third highest grossing horror film of 1981 and the 34th highest grosser of the year. So let's get to what it's about!

In a small New England town, four elderly friends (Ricky Hawthorne, Sears James, Dr. John Jaffrey, and Edward Charles Wanderly) form what they call the Chowder Society (Why they wanna name their group after soup is beyond me!). The Chowder Society was an informal club where tell each other scary stories. To get into the club, one must present such a story to the men.

When Edward's son David, who was living in New York, falls from a window after the girl he was sleeping with suddenly turns into a demon, Edward grieves for his lost son. He calls his other son Don, a college professor who had fallen on hard times, and tells him about the death of his brother. Don goes to the small New England town reluctantly because he knows his father has always preferred his brother David, who was more successful and ambitious than he.

Shortly after David's death, the four elderly men are suddenly restless and are frightened by vivid nightmares. Something is bothering them and none can figure out what. Edward becomes so distraught over the passing of his son that he wanders out into the snow. He sees the same female apparition that caused his son to fall to his death, and he too falls to his death over the side of the bridge. Although legally his death was ruled as suicide, his son Don believes that something else caused the death of his father. Don approaches the three elderly men left in the group and offers a "ghost" story of his own to get membership into the Chowder Society.

He tells them of his days working as a college professor and the day he met Alma, the beautiful and mysterious secretary. They immediately become involved in a heated love affair fueled by sex that causes him to miss work for days and earn the scorn of the Dean who had previously praised him for his excellent work.

Don takes Alma to the beach and she starts acting strangely. While in the tub together, he playfully pushes her underwater and she comes out screaming. After that she tells him that she plans to take him to places he's never been, show him things he's never seen, and that she will see the life run out of him.

Don found this particularly odd and decided to leave her at once. Some time later he hears from his brother David in New York and he tells Don that he has met the same girl in New York and plans to marry her. Don warns him to stay away from because she isn't real and David dismisses it as jealousy.

The elderly men react to Don's story, Sears discounts it, but Ricky tells Don that he believes. That night, Dr. John Jaffrey has a dream about the same woman, waking in the middle of the night yelling that she has no pulse. The following morning Alma appears at the Doctor's home and wants to be seen as a patient.

When Millie goes to tell her that the Dr. no longer sees patients, the woman is gone. Meanwhile the Dr. is staggering down the stairs and starts looking in the medicine cabinet when he sees the skeleton of Alma and has a heart attack and dies. This leaves only Sears and Ricky left. And finally they tell Don of their strange history with a woman who looked exactly like Alma.

Back when the four friends were young, the beautiful Eva Galley came to town and the four friends were immediately smitten with her, and she encourages their sexual interest. It was young Edward who first took her to bed, but was unable to preform. Outside of her house the friends serenaded Eva in hopes of catching a glimpse of her shirtless when Edward comes to the window, giving the friends the impression that he did in fact sleep with her.

The four friends leave and return to Eva's house drunk, discussing Eva's abilities in the bedroom. They go into her house where all but Sears dance with her. When Edward insist that they leave, Sears suggestively insists on getting his dance, and Eva makes it known that she will dance with all of them.

She confronts Edward about what he told his friends about that night, and is about to tell the truth when Edward leaps at her to stop her, and knocks her down, accidentally smacking her head into the stone fireplace. Horrified, the young men believe that she is dead. At first they consider calling the police, but realize it would mean ruining their lives. Instead they decide to load her body into her car, and then push it into the nearby lake. As the car descends, Eva stirs inside, looking out the window at them, still alive.

Back in the present, Ricky and Sears admit that the death of Eva has haunted them for years. Sears is oblivious, but both Ricky and Don believe that Alma and Eva are one in the same and that her ghost has returned to seek revenge. Don suggests that they go to Eva's house, now in total ruins, to confront the past and her ghost once and for all.

They go to confront Eva but Don falls through the stairs and Sears leaves to get help. While on his way Sears comes upon Eva's apparition and slams on his breaks and swerves into the side of the road. Inside of the car is attacked by one of Eva's accomplices, and is presumably killed. Ricky nearly dies at the hands of Eva's other accomplice, but Ricky survives and quickly tells the authorities to pull Eva's car from the lake. When Ricky opens the door, he finds....

What does he find??? Ohh nooo!!! Well watch Ghost Story and find out for yourself guy! This movie was ok, I wasn't blown away but I didn't hate it. Some parts were really slow and it seemed like it took forever for the movie to get going. I was actually a little bored during some of it and wanted to take a nap!

The special effects of the dead skeleton chick were ok, not amazing, but it was the early 80's, so you get what you get. There was a bit of nekkidness and a little bit of sex, no blood...ehh. It could have been better. I'm used to newer movies with more blood, guts, and death I guess.

This movie is sort of old school and like I've said, I am for sure new school. I think overall I'd give this movie a 2.5 out of 5. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't great either. I thought the whole revenge thing was pretty cool. And the fact that she came back as Alma and found Edwards two sons was interesting.

But I don't know if I would watch it again. I doubt it. Once was enough, it was almost 2 hours long and there were a few times that I wanted to put my head on the desk and sleep. zzzzzzz!!! So there you have it, and that's all there is to tell. Go and check out what Zane has going on, I'm sure it's delicious *Don't ask!*. Check back next week for all new stuff at Dead End Horror!! Thanks for stopping by!
